ABOUT THE ARTIST

Born - 1988, Porto, PT. Graphic designer and illustrator based in Lisbon born with a natural tendency to provoke, using sarcasm as a weapon and the power of full-time thinking to write about the most common things of all possible things: life and human beings, the inbetweeners, and the all arounders.

During the course of her artistic practice Wasted Rita has been exploring her love-hate relationship with life and her surrounding world. Dubbing herself as a Natural Born Agent Provocateur, she likes to think, write and draw without filter, resulting in little gems of sarcastic wisdom dipped in acid which reflect on an unconventional upbringing in a Catholic school to the sounds of Black Flag. Her creative process ranges from sculptural objects, installations, paintings, drawings and writing, using her unique voice to give form to her mordant observations and poetic invectives on human behaviour and contemporary culture.
