ARTIST BIO

Coté Escriva unites animation and street art culture in his darkly funny sculptures, paintings, and prints. In his works, American cartoon figures such as Bugs Bunny, Popeye, Snoopy, and Mickey Mouse smile and pose in spite of their exposed bones and rotting flesh. Escriva, who is based in Valencia, Spain, has exhibited in London, Barcelona, and Los Angeles, among other cities. He also works as a graphic designer and illustrator. Like many of the crossover street artists he counts as influences, including KAWS and Shepard Fairey, Escriva has also produced merchandise such as custom skateboard decks and toys.
